Do You Shabu Shabu?
Some bumps come with dips at trendy Shabu Fondue: "Course two is shabu shabu, a do-it-yourself Japanese hot pot dish in which vegetables and raw, thin-sliced beef (or, in Chandler, chicken or shrimp as well) are cooked in bubbling broth and served with rice. (Shabu shabu is the onomatopoeic Japanese term for the 'swish swish' sizzling sound the beef makes when it hits the hot liquid.) Course three is chocolate fondue. Doesn't it all sound like great fun?
