Fondue Will Never Go Away

Here's an interesting article that documents how to take the fondue plunge. It's interesting because the author gives a great overview of fondue including it's history and an overview of the cheeses most commonly used.

But then when he gets around to actually trying it he uses Pre-Packaged Fondue. This is the stuff that comes in a vacuum sealed package that you cut open and heat. It's more of an astronaut meal that a good way to try fondue.

Maybe a better first fondue experience would going out to the Melting Pot or making it yourself with the cheeses that were discussed in the article.

Super Bowl Caramel Fondue

Here's a recipe for Kathy Clark's Super Bowl Caramel Fondue. It looks like a great carmel fondue recipe but there really isn't anything that links this fondue with the Super Bowl. It's not like it's served in a helmet or anything. I think they slapped the words "superbowl" and "fondue" together just to show up in "Superbowl" related news. Perhaps we'll see this recipe again in the spring as Kathy Clark's Easter Carmel Fondue. But like I said, it does sound like a tasty fondue.

Another Fondue Comeback

How many articles have you seen like this one, Fabulous fondue makes a culinary comeback that announce Fondue's amazing comeback? There's usually one every week or at least every month. People, let's face it. Fondue will always be a great meal. It's delicious and it's great for parties. What else could you serve at a dinner party where you can actually sit with your guests. With fondue there's no running back and forth to the kitchen or worrying about burning something in the oven. You're right there with your guests, enjoying some wine and having a good time.

I've heard enough about Fondue making a comeback. It was great when they made it during long cold winters in the Swiss Alps, it was great in the 70ies and it's great now.
